tad 1991 (or so…) ’til now
Inspired two friends…tids and dom with a concept and time on their hands wanting to make clothes that reflected what they wanted to wear strong, thick and environmentally sound ..more than just a logo carrier …”doing it different” was our by line! Then take the profit and put something back…oh and get enough time to get in the water- how nieve we were!!!! To be green was not a fashion but our passion

early success, with stockists including Chapter and Low Pressure….fuelled our belief and the crusade…surfland should be greener and cleaner…!
tad started our first shop (Heaven) with 2 mates Jinx and Wibble in 1993 using our beach contacts we sold surf hardwear and the tad product. We still run all our shops on environmentally sound basis, after much extra labour and effort that has never changed! despite commercial and fiscal pressures! We backed up our beliefs by making the fittings out of rubbish for our shops, or using wholly re-cyclable materials.
…we were asked to fit shops for others using an old decommissioned trawler we made a fruit and veg “gallery” shop…so we did using only a bike and our hands to strip make and move it..and a crane after all it was 12 tons! The statement seemed a little lost on the Mc Donalds generation!
In 2001 retail moved from the docks to town……
the rest as they say is history.. the shop still runs on the founders eco philosopy
and we have a studio/warehouse that makes limited eco product…
We have had a board and wetsuit shop on the harbour since 2004, where we keep our fet firmly in contact with the locals and the water…being only 12ft from it!
Fifteen years later, 3 shops and a whole heap of life later we’re still bringing the surf to Exmouth……and the beach to the rest of ..
tad………..environmental since’91!
